Operations & Admin Officer Summer Internship @ ISM – 2025

Assalamu Alaikum,
Alhamdulillah, The Islamic Society of Markham has once again secured Summer Internship funding from the Federal Government of Canada for Summer 2025.
We are seeking to recruit youth College & University students or recent graduates (up to 29 years of age) for a full 8-week Summer Internship. The contract term is from May 5th to June 29th, 2025, and selected candidates must commit to the entire duration as per the grant terms. Each successful intern will get 8 weeks of employment @ $17.20/hr and 30 hours of work per week, working 6 days per week, including one weekend day.
The Summer Internship role will encompass Operations, Administration, and various masjid support tasks, requiring flexibility, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to diverse situations.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled in a College or University program in the GTA
- At least 18 years old
- Volunteer and/or work experience is an asset
- Energetic, dependable, team player with strong ethics and discipline
- Available for full 8 consecutive weeks with 30 hours/week
- Able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Report upon selection
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Important Notes:
- There will be no vacation /time off allowed during the internship period.
- Availability is mandatory for Eid ul Adha, including the night before for preparation and Fajr to Zuhr on Eid day.
